Privacy policy

This policy describes the information used by the current TheoryTestEU website, why it is needed and how you can manage it.

Who operates the service

TheoryTestEU operates this website and handles requests about the personal information described here. Contact us at shahadathossindk@gmail.com for privacy questions or to exercise your rights.

Information used when you practise

  • Guest session: the service creates a random session identifier so it can recognise your browser and keep your information separate from other learners.
  • Learning preferences: your country, licence category, interface language, question language and completion of the initial setup.
  • Learning records: saved answers, marked questions, practice and mock attempts, start and submission times, results, test cycles and completed lessons. Attempts keep a snapshot of their questions so a later content change does not silently rewrite an earlier result.
  • Device-only choices: saved road signs and some chapter read markers are stored in your browser.
  • Support messages: if you contact us, we receive your email address, the message and any attachments you choose to send.

Web requests also involve network information, such as an IP address and browser request details, which our hosting provider processes to deliver and protect the service. Operational error logs may contain technical information needed to diagnose a failure. We do not ask for a driving licence number, identity document or payment card details to use guest practice.

Why we use this information

We use session and learning information to provide the study service you request: remembering your choices, saving progress, resuming attempts, showing your results and carrying out export or deletion requests. We use limited technical information to protect sessions, prevent misuse and investigate problems.

Where data protection law applies, the relevant grounds are providing the requested service and our legitimate interest in operating a secure, reliable website. We respond to privacy requests to meet applicable obligations. Any future optional advertising or analytics processing that requires consent will need a separate choice before it begins.

Cookies and browser storage

The practice area uses the necessary dt_session cookie. It normally expires 30 days after issue and is protected with HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax and Secure on HTTPS. The cookie contains a random identifier, not your answers or a Google password. A hash of the session token is kept on the server.

Local storage remembers saved signs and selected chapter read markers on your device. An installed web app can cache public icons and an offline notice. The service worker does not cache private API responses, account pages or timed exams. An offline theory document you explicitly download stays in your downloads until you remove it.

See the cookie policy for durations and practical ways to remove this storage.

Hosting, email and optional services

The website is hosted on a Hostinger VPS. Our hosting service processes information needed to serve the website and store its database. Email sent to our support address is handled in our Gmail mailbox by Google. We do not sell your learning history to advertisers.

Google sign-in and Stripe checkout are not configured in the current release. Guest practice does not require either service. If Google sign-in is enabled later, its purpose is to verify your identity; the integration is designed to use a verified Google account identifier, name and email, without requesting Gmail access. If payments are enabled later, the checkout provider and purchase data will be explained before you pay.

Providers may process information in countries other than yours. Their applicable privacy information and any necessary transfer arrangements must be considered when a service is activated. We do not claim that all provider processing is restricted to one country.

Advertising and analytics

No advertising network or analytics tracker is active in this release.

If we introduce advertising, we will update these pages and provide the consent controls required for the regions we serve before optional advertising storage is used. Google explains its advertising technologies and choices in its advertising privacy information. That link describes Google’s services; it does not mean those services are currently loaded here.

How long information is kept

Session access expires after 30 days unless the session is replaced or removed sooner. Learning records are retained so you can return to them; the current service does not automatically delete them after a fixed period of inactivity. Clearing a cookie does not delete the corresponding server records and can make a guest session inaccessible to you.

Use the account controls while you can still access the session, or contact us for help. Support correspondence is kept for handling the request and necessary follow-up. We do not promise that deleting live records instantly removes copies in any operational backups; if you have a specific retention concern, include it in your request.

Your controls and rights

In the practice area, open account settings to export your data, permanently delete exam history or delete the account and its associated learning records. History deletion and account deletion are separate actions. Export creates a file on your device that you are responsible for keeping private.

Server account deletion does not clear device-only saved signs, browser caches or downloaded files. Remove those separately through the browser’s site-data settings or your device’s file manager.

Depending on applicable law, you may also request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability, or object to certain processing. Email the support address above; we may need enough information to verify your connection to the data. You can complain to the data protection authority for your country. The European Commission’s guide to individual rights and the European Data Protection Board’s complaint guidance explain these routes.

Changes to this policy

We will update the date on this page when the policy changes. Material changes, including activating an optional provider or changing how learning data is used, will be reflected in the policy and any relevant choices shown by the service.
